How It Works

With Solar SafeGuard, ultrasonic sounds and vibrations send through the ground up to 8,500 ft2, disrupting the pests and repelling them from your yard. No poisons or traps are required, making it safe for the environment.


You can safely repel moles, gophers, voles, and other burrowing animals by using this method.


Solar SafeGuard uses a built-in solar NiMH rechargeable battery, so it can remain charged for up to 7 days when there is no sunlight.


It's recommended that two units are installed within 100 feet of one another in order to get the best coverage.

  • Can people hear the sound that is emitted?

    Yes, there will be a faint buzzing sound coming from the unit. Once properly staked into the ground, it will only be audible to those standing directly next to it.

  • Does it affect pets such as cats or dogs?

    No, once the Solar SafeGuard is staked into the ground properly, it will only bother burrowing pests.

  • How long does it take to see results?

    It usually takes between two and three weeks to see results.

  • Does rain affect this product?

    It is weather-resistant. The IPX4 rating means that light rain, and sprinklers will not affect the effectiveness of the Solar SafeGuard. However we do recommend that you keep it in an area where water does not pool, or where water is typically irrigated. If water does get into the metal tube, you should take it out of the ground and allow the internal components to dry before inserting it back into the ground.

  • Does it work on rabbits?

    No, it will not deter rabbits; it is designed only to repel burrowing pests.

Ii bought three of the alarms

Ii bought three of the alarms and it seemed to do the trick right away. I had a wood chuck and possum under my garden shed. I filled in their entrance tunnels and nothing has disturbed it! Amazing!

I called and talked to you in

I called and talked to you in the first week of August. I informed customer service that I was returning both Solar Mole & Snake Repellers because a gopher continues digging its tunnel in their presence. This device is in my front yard, making noise every 30 seconds, but the gopher doesn't leave.

Customer service suggested to me to try these units for two more weeks because when the gopher hears its beeping the first time, it thinks the noise is temporary, so it keeps digging the tunnel. When it continues to hear the beeping noise every 30 seconds for more than 2 weeks, it realizes that this is a permanent bothersome noise and the gopher leaves the area.

I am glad to inform you that the gopher has certainly left my front yard and its activity of digging tunnels in my front yard has stopped.
